and percussion. This concert will also feature the premiere of Andy Hague’s
new work for us, and another chance to hear a previous commission, Mantissa
by Will Gregory.

Our next outing at St. George’s. Will include Sir Malcom Arnold’s four solo fantasies for brass, the Santa Barbara Sonata by Bramwell Tovey, Street Song by Michael Tilson Thomas and Ray Premru’s complete Divertimento for brass. Quite a blow.
19th October 2007 8.00pm St Patrick’s Church, Redfield, Bristol Brass music through the ages with works by Giles Farnaby, Henry VIII, Matthew Locke, Fauré through to Gershwin. An evening of light and classical music with demonstrations of early instruments and another outing for the Santa Barbara Sonata by Bramwell Tovey.

04th October 2008 7.30pm St. George’s, Bristol A sonic spectacular. Four major works starting off in epic style with Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. The second half will feature Festmusik der Stadt Wien by Richard Strauss, a huge virtuosic piece that’s a concerto for brass in all but name. A rare but welcome outing for Jan Koetsier’s forthright and energetic Symphony for Brass and Sibelius’s Finlandia brings the concert to a rousing conclusion.
