25th Birthday Concert
Well, it’s nearly here, our big, big 25th birthday concert. Details can be found on this website of course, or on the St. George’s, Bristol diary. We’re all practising hard (honest) for what should be a spectacular program. We’re really pleased to be giving the premiere of a new piece specially written for this concert by Liz Lane, a founder member of the Consort. Three members of the original quintet – John Cornick, Paul Harris and Simon Derrick are still with the Consort, finding it a useful source of free beer over the years. Sadly the other founding member, Laurence Dunn who was due to make a comeback and play in this concert has had to pull out due to just having had an unpronounceable medical operation on his nose – hopefully he’ll be back to full fitness soon and we hope to see him in the audience (we’ll give yo 5% off a ticket Lawrence). So if you fancy hearing the South West’s premier symphonic brass ensemble blow the roof off St George’s, come along on the 2nd October 7.30pm.
